Některé chilli papričky způsobí, že po jejich konzumaci si přejete zemřít, ale pokud byste si dali i jen kousek z této nové štiplavé, tak je velmi pravděpodobné, že i opravdu zemřete.
Název této odrůdy je shodný s pověstí, kterou s sebou nese – dračí dech. Paprička údajně dosahuje až 2,48 milionu jednotek na Scovilleho stupnici, což je o 280 tisíc jednotek více, než má dosud nejpikantnější odrůda – Carolina Reaper.
Autorem této smrtící papričky je pěstitel Mike Smith z Walesu (můžete ho vidět na fotce výše) a momentálně čeká na potvrzení z Guinessovy knihy rekordů, že jde o nejštiplavější odrůdu na světě.
Konzumace této malé papriky může být smrtící, protože obsahuje tak velké množství kapsaicinu, že už je pro člověka nebezpečné. Dračí dech vám doslova spálí dýchací cesty, uzavře je a způsobí anafylaktický šok, čili extrémní alergickou reakci. Zatím se na ni nikdo neodvážil, i její autor si ji pouze jemně přiložil na špičku jazyka a po pár sekundách ji musel vyplivnout, protože takový žár se nedal vydržet.
Možná vám v hlavě vyskakuje otázka, proč vyšlechtili takovou papričku, když se nemůže jíst? Dračí dech může posloužit v medicíně jako povrchové anestetikum pro lidi, kteří jsou alergičtí na běžné léky proti bolesti a to díky tomu, že olej z této chilli papriky může umrtvit kůži.
